Precision nutrition based on your RMR
We take the guesswork out of estimating daily calorie burn by providing metabolic testing. Did you know that even people who are a similar height, weight and age can have significant differences in their metabolism – as much as 900 calories per day! That can make a big difference when you are trying to lose or maintain weight.
Metabolism is influenced by a number of factors, such as:
- Hormone levels
- Muscle Mass
- Illness or disease
While the equations used by websites, apps, and nutritionists to estimate calorie needs are based upon scientific evidence, even the best equation can only be an estimation. Knowing your exact calorie needs can make the difference between achieving your goals and feeling frustrated that you’re doing everything right yet still seeing no results. The test is also necessary for athletes to optimize performance.
We use the BodyGem® metabolic measurement device to exactly assess each client’s resting metabolic rate (RMR). The BodyGem® test takes only about 10 minutes. All you have to do is breathe into the device (officially called an indirect calorimeter) and you will have your results. That simple. This is the same technology that has been used for decades in hospitals. We are excited to be able to offer this to our clients right in our office.
At our Towson location we are able to offer a metabolic test + an InBody body composition analysis together for a discounted rate.
